The Don & Jean Wedding

June 25, 2011 - 3pm - Oasis Garden - Garden Wedding Set-up

This day, my cousin Exedon Velasco, Don-Don as we call him exchanged vow with Jean Bernales. Since I've been giving my services as wedding coordinators to others, I volunteered to handle this wedding together with my 2 other friends/coordinators -- Millet & Chickie. At first my cousin was skeptic to take on the offer since it will be free of charged, charge to friendship :) but I insisted that it was ok especially for the other two.

A few weeks before the wedding, I've been bugging my cousin to hand over the nitty gritty details of the wedding since we will be handling it and we want to have the full blown coverage of our work as early as possible so that we would know how to adjust to the situation - and it was given to me a few days before the wedding with constant revision here and there! Also, weeks before the wedding, I've been joking him as a "GROOMZILLA"! And his bride just kept laughing about it, because it was indeed true! This was the first time that I met a groom as hands-on as my cousin. He was the one who chose the color motif red, design the wedding invitation, printed and cut it out, reserved the place, hire the minister to facilitate the wedding rites and all that jazz! whoa! For a guy?! That is why also his bride kept on joking "Ate, bading ata ang pinsan mo!" Oh well...I just say "Basta mas matining tumili yan kesa sa akin!"

On the day of the wedding - It was raining so HARD! OH NO! Not today! We have to go Plan B! have the wedding inside the reception. But my cousin's fighting spirit to push the Garden wedding as planned was very high. He was very optimistic that they can held the ceremony as planned. True to being the Groomzilla - in a nice way - he took charge of the set-up and really pushed thru with the garden wedding. And as to some miracle - it did not rain on us! yey! Millet kept on saying "Iba ang fighting spirit ng pinsan mo!" Since it was a civil ceremony, it took no longer than 30-minutes and guests are filing up the lobby, waiting to be seated at their respective tables. And they enter the banquet - it was a new beginning for both of the as Husband and Wife ... and soon to be Father and Mother of a little boy named Kikko! (Jean was already on her second term, 5months when they wed)

Congratulations Don & Jean!

Group Name

Millet, Chickie and Me have been contemplating on this for the longest time. A name for our group! Because it is -sometimes- hard to introduce ourselves "wedding coordinators" because most supplier and even possible clients asks for our affiliation or what group are we. So it dawned in us that maybe we should make this formal (and with the push of a new found friend)

One Sunday afternoon, Millet went to my place to check the progress of the invites im creating for our August wedding and with some chit-chat time. It was during this time that I blurted the tagline I thought would be catching and cute - just like us..hehe..and she liked it

So.....I think, this is it!

Cheers!

Gio and Imee Wedding

April 4, 2011 is the set date for Gio and Imee's Wedding
Church: Transfiguration Chapel, Caleruega Nasugbu Batangas
Reception: Sylvina's Garden inside Bali Village

April 3 good chaos :)
Call time: 12 noon - that is para sa lahat!
Meeting Place: Imee's House at Malumanay St.
Itenerary: To transport all entourage to Tagaytay via convoy
What happened: Hindi nasunod. So kumulot ang noo at buhok ata ni Millet sa pag re-organize ng mga tao para makarating sa Tagaytay in one piece...

But before that happened, eto muna ang eksena namin nila Millet at Chickie.

I was picked up by the van ng mga 8am. Then we picked up Millet at her apartment, then boom! I remembered yun mga polo ng boys, nakalimutan ko sa bahay...hahaha...buti na lang nasa makati pa kami nun naalala ko! hahaha...back to house to pick up the polos and ties. Then totoo na to we went to Ms. Matamis to pick up the cake. Then we headed towards Imee's place na to check on the couple; si Groom kasi may kumpil pa sa may Quiapo at 9:30am. There, they met up with Chickie na dakilang chaperon nila for their day's itenerary para to keep them on track na din. To our suprise, hindi pa gising yun dalawa, to take note that was already 8:30am, at dapat they should be at the Church ng 9:30am for the kumpil. So talak mode kami at pinagmadali yun dalawa. While we asked our two helpers to have their breakfast first before doing the other tasks. Si Millet will pick up the cupcakes at ako naman ay to pick up the overhead projector at board sa bahay ni Tito G sa Fairview, then pick up Gio's - the Groom - mom, son and nephew. Ok. Both task done without a sweat. The entourage arrived one by one. Maiko arrived with the doves to be used at the Church; Si Peter driving one of the cars to be used to transport some of the entourage; Manong Allen one of our hired vans to transport the entourage! And to our dismay the two more cars we've been waiting didn't arrive, no advice at all!

Kebarbaridad!

So, we can't do anything about it. Plan B! The van driven by Manong Allen already headed to Tagaytay, with the Bride's sister and other members of the Entourage. Soon after I followed together with Peter, his GF and two boys from the entourage too. I was in charge of transporting the 1 tier cake for the cutting ceremony to the reception area and the making sure that the entourage are already settled in our rented house for the night.

So, everyone arrived safely at Tagaytay. Everyone settled in, ate dinner and started rehearsing for the "dance entrance" to be performed at the Reception, while Chickie and I were busy doing our artwork - misallete, offertories, table numbers and headdress. And true to our words, the rest already put their heads to sleep while the three of us - Millet, Chickie and I - stayed all night to make sure everything is finished and done. We also made a run-through of what will happen to make sure everything will be on scheduled.

APRIL 4 - WEDDING DAY!
4am call time for everyone. We also scheduled the use of the Bathrooms since we only have 2 bathrooms in the house and we are more like 15 people in the house. While the rest of the entourage were busy preparing themselves of the wedding, the three of us busy gathering all the paraphernalias we need - lanterns, offertories, tarpaulin, etc. Chickie left first with the rest of the entourage for the pictorial while Millet and I headed towards the Reception Area to check the progress of the design. Then by 930am Millet went to the Church and I was left behind at the reception area to make sure everything is taking cared of.

Then the party started :)

Oh did I mention that the couple presented us with gifts? We were really shocked and pleased with their gesture. They gave us wayfarer shades that went really well with our outfits

Colbie Caillat - I Do

It's always been about me, myself, and I
I thought relationships were nothing but a waste of time
I never wanted to be anybody's other half
I was happy saying I had a love that wouldn't last
That was the only way I knew 'til I met you

You make we wanna say
I do, I do, I do, do do do do do do doo
Yeah, I do, I do, I do, do do do do do do doo
Cause every time before it's been like
Maybe yes and maybe no
I can't live without it, I can't let it go
Ooh what did I get myself into?
You make we wanna say
I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do

Tell me is it only me
Do you feel the same?
You know me well enough to know that I'm not playing games
I promise I won't turn around and I won't let you down
You can trust I've never felt it like I feel it now
Baby there's nothing, there's nothing we can't get through

So can we say
I do, I do, I do, do do do do do do doo
Oh baby, I do, I do, I do, do do do do do do doo
Cause every time before it's been like
Maybe yes and maybe no
I won't live without it, I won't let it go
What more can I get myself into?
You make we wanna say

Me, a family, a house, a family
Ooh, can we be a family?
And when I'm eighty years old I'm sitting next to you

And we'll remember when we said
I do, I do, I do, do do do do do do do
Oh baby, I do, I do, I do, do do do do do do do
Cause every time before it's been like
Maybe yes and maybe no
I won't live without it, I won't let us go
Just look at what we got ourselves into
You make we wanna say
I do, I do, I do, I do, I do, I do,
Love you

January 8, 2011 : Renell Garcia & Evelyn Peru Wedding

January 8, 2011

Finally. The wedding did happen.

Originally, the wedding should have been celebrated last December 11, 2010, but due to an unfortunate event that happened to the bride's father, it was cancelled and was rescheduled.

As the wedding coordinator for the said event, the day before, I talked to the bride to see if there is anything else that should be done, people to be notified before the much awaited event the following day. It was then that I found out who were the hosts for the afternoon's event - MyMy Davao and LotLot de Leon. I also checked on the other suppliers - photog and video, flowers, choir, etc - made sure that they know their call time and place to meet.

On the eve of the wedding day, the couple, together with the bride's parents checked-in at The Pearl Manila Hotel, located at Taft Avenue. The night before the wedding, I specifically instructed to bride and the groom to have heavy breakfast because I anticipated that they wont be able to enjoy their meal at the reception. On the day of the wedding, preparation started at 5am, with hair and make-up of the bride, secondary sponsor and mother of the bride.  I arrived at the hotel a few minutes past 8am at room 1414. Make-up of the bride was half-wy finished. I checked the list for the line up of program for the afternoon's reception. called most of the suppliers that we needed that morning. The Photog and Video came in at half past nine in the morning, about 30minuntes earlier with their original calltime; flowers came in late and also there was a mixed up with the order, so we have to stick to the original qoutation and insisted that they have to do something about the mishap. While waiting for the replacement, pre-wedding pictorial took place. Luckily, the florist were able to replace and correct the order placed.

At exactly 11:30, the bridal car arrived, and a quarter before twelve, we were on our way to the church. At the church, I was so busy locating all the entourage - giving their bouquest, boutonnieres, and other stuff. I made sure everything was set, and once the procession started, I left the church and headed to the Hotel Reception.

At the reception, I first have all the couple's luggages checked-in, once settled I went to the banquet hall and checked if everything is in order. Made some necessary changes with regards to the table arrangement. Wrote down the program flow, waited for the hosts - MyMy Davao and LotLot de Leon - to arrive. waited for the guests at the reception area and of course for the entourage to arrive.

Once they are all gathered, party begun as well. First by the procession of the entourage, the ceremony was welcomed by the bride's brother then lunch was served, photo-opt session was also done simultaneously per table while everyone was eating. after that the hosts resumed the program with the cake cutting, wine toasting, letting the doves, first dance, bouqet and garter throwing, etc. The celebration ended with the parent's message to the couple as well as the couple's message to all their guests.

Tiring yet satisfayin day.
