June 25, 2011 - 3pm - Oasis Garden - Garden Wedding Set-up
This day, my cousin Exedon Velasco, Don-Don as we call him exchanged vow with Jean Bernales. Since I've been giving my services as wedding coordinators to others, I volunteered to handle this wedding together with my 2 other friends/coordinators -- Millet & Chickie. At first my cousin was skeptic to take on the offer since it will be free of charged, charge to friendship :) but I insisted that it was ok especially for the other two.
A few weeks before the wedding, I've been bugging my cousin to hand over the nitty gritty details of the wedding since we will be handling it and we want to have the full blown coverage of our work as early as possible so that we would know how to adjust to the situation - and it was given to me a few days before the wedding with constant revision here and there! Also, weeks before the wedding, I've been joking him as a "GROOMZILLA"! And his bride just kept laughing about it, because it was indeed true! This was the first time that I met a groom as hands-on as my cousin. He was the one who chose the color motif red, design the wedding invitation, printed and cut it out, reserved the place, hire the minister to facilitate the wedding rites and all that jazz! whoa! For a guy?! That is why also his bride kept on joking "Ate, bading ata ang pinsan mo!" Oh well...I just say "Basta mas matining tumili yan kesa sa akin!"
On the day of the wedding - It was raining so HARD! OH NO! Not today! We have to go Plan B! have the wedding inside the reception. But my cousin's fighting spirit to push the Garden wedding as planned was very high. He was very optimistic that they can held the ceremony as planned. True to being the Groomzilla - in a nice way - he took charge of the set-up and really pushed thru with the garden wedding. And as to some miracle - it did not rain on us! yey! Millet kept on saying "Iba ang fighting spirit ng pinsan mo!" Since it was a civil ceremony, it took no longer than 30-minutes and guests are filing up the lobby, waiting to be seated at their respective tables. And they enter the banquet - it was a new beginning for both of the as Husband and Wife ... and soon to be Father and Mother of a little boy named Kikko! (Jean was already on her second term, 5months when they wed)
Congratulations Don & Jean!
